internet celebrity neil ciciriega played a bunch of klik 'n play games on a twitch stream today. they start at about 40 minutes
so basically klik 'n play was the "rpg maker" or somesuch of its day in the late 90s. basically you got a bunch of 12 year olds making incomprehensible total bullshit games in the dawn of the internet, and they're amazing.
hits include:
- some autistic reimagining of zelda 3
- "the adventures of the retarded goat" (featuring bee gees midi files)
- a thing where you click on a guy to make him shit on the ground to increase his happiness
- "wow, i peeked up de bean"
- dwayne.gam
- bubba in the turd dimension

The UFC demo is ok, the control scheme is a bit technical and could use some refinement, there needs to be a little more dynamic way to sway to avoid shots, but I've KO'd Jones about 10 times and I'm not bored by that yet. I will bump the difficulty up a bit and get a bit more familiar but the in game graphics are gorgeous. I don't know why they use game models when the introduce the fighters at the start of the game instead of just using a photograph as much like the THQ one the game models look worse in still prior to matches than when they move around in game.
I hope Pride mode is in still...

I really liked the first one.copstache wrote:

not that i suspect many of you care, but the fan translation for the second Game Center CX DS game is finally done(ish). this is fairly important because one of the games is a text adventure that is nearly impossible to play unless you know japanese a whole lot better than i do.
patched it, slapped it on my acekard, boom. it also seems to work on the desmume emulator if you're into that.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
this one isn't quite as focused as that one was. the adventure game section takes FOREVER and isn't great. there's a dragon quest clone that is really just dragon quest and who cares?
but then there's a fantastic top-down shooter, and a tetris-esque block game that kind of rules. also it seems like there's remixed versions of almost all of the games from the original available to play as extras.
definitely worth looking into if you liked the first though

I love how these guys are doing their own goofy version of a rehearsed marketing presentation, too.

And you get a loyalty discount if you own either or both of the previous games and order through gog.com. The standard edition is packed with goods. Best company ever.

I'm preordering a hardcopy for PS4 and the GOG version.
Preorders are evidently not actually live yet, though.

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
I played about half of the first one before I gave up and started the second. I'd say... yes and no? There's not much that carries over with your save, and I didn't feel like there was anything essential to the story that I would have missed or did miss because I hadn't finished the first one, but I do think being familiar with the world and the lore made the game better. You can follow the story just fine without knowing what's happened before, but you'll miss a lot of its subtleties and complexities, and the same applies to the world and the lore. The game doesn't waste a whole lot of time with exposition.FVBTVS wrote:if i played 2 without playing 1 would i be missing a lot?
That reminds me, I'm gonna go play TW1 now.

Nah. In my completely biased opinion, it's a great game but very rough in a lot of areas. It's quite long, 40+ hours. If you don't have the time, read a wiki summary or watch a Youtube summary. Also, ask any questions here!
Edit: All copies of The Witcher 3 will come with a compendium bringing new players up to speed on the lore, characters and current events.
Edit 2:
Best studio.

I don't even know if I have TW1 on GOG, I got it on Steam because I'm an idiot.
Anyway, any ideas who that white-haired chick in the trailer is? At first I thought it had to be Yennefer, but there's a shot of Geralt, Triss and a black-haired woman later, so I'm guessing that's her.
Also, that fucking gameplay footage, THAT GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE.

I'm guessing it's Ciri. I still haven't read any of the books but saw her name mentioned a lot in other forum discussions.spacehamster wrote:Anyway, any ideas who that white-haired chick in the trailer is?

GOG preorder is up.
EDIT Bonus content is already downloadable. Shit you, I do not.
Since the price in your region is almost $11.98 higher than in the US, we’re giving you $11.98 back (~€8.98) in bonus codes to get free classic games from GOG.com.

Get Planescape: Torment (for the story) or Baldur's Gate II (for a game that'll last you until TW3 comes out And to play Bioware's crowning achievement).

I already have the BG remake on Steam and I've never touched it because I know I'll hate the combat...

Re: The Bill's Now Playing Video Game Thread (Now with Bames
So that was Ciri, then.We missed you!
Today we got a look at the third trailer for the witcher 3 wild hunt. We hope you liked it!
There's much more to the game that it's just impossible to show everything within two and a half minutes.
Most importantly, we showed you a preview of our main characters:
Geralt's close friends and some of the last witchers remaining in the world. Vesemir, Eskel, and Lambert will play a big part in the game, as well as their famous fortress, Kaer Morhen.
You also got a glimpse of the renowned bard Dandelion and the sorceress, Triss Merigold.
Emhyr Var Emhyreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, the most powerful man in the world of the Witcher also made an appearance. Recognise his voice?
And then there was Ciri!
And Yennefer!
By the way, if you're new to the series, don't worry, the game will provide you all the information you need to know, and you'll start loving (and battling) characters in no time!
Also you've been asking many questions about gameplay features and we're finally ready to answer some of them:
Yes, you will be able to fight on horseback.
The crossbow. Yup, Geralt has a ranged weapon. Because monsters fly and you can't stab them.
Remember swimming and sailing? You'll be able to dive and search for a lot of hidden stuff too. There's a whole underwater world to discover.
Horse racing anyone?
You also got to hear more music from the game. This particular track was composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz. We'd love to hear your feedback on our forums, facebook, or twitter etc.
