The only good thing about Texas is the lack of a state income tax and some of the bars are decent. Other than that the weather generally sucks, most of the people generally suck, the state government sucks, and the hipster infestation in the major metropolitan areas is just as bad as that of NYC or Miami.

who actually sits around calculating where they live, like sitting back and giving a thumbs up or down to their general surroundings? it makes no sense, unless you're living in a hovel in a wartorn area or something or have kids that you're trying to place in a nice area.

do you write down pros and cons based on your daily experiences? a venn diagram? enjoying one's surroundings seems so arbitrary and dependent on personal disposition at a given moment that it makes no sense (to me) to categorize places in such a general way. sweeping statements only make sense from outside
