Read that this morning. I don't always agree with Sullivan, but his takedowns of Romney have been great to read. The response to his Newsweek article about Obama's critics all being dumb was also fun to read.Chevalier Mal Fet wrote:Again, this campaign has been mind-blowingly tone deaf and seems ignorant of even the basics of decent and effective campaigning.
For those who don't know the basics, WHILE the attack at the Libyan embassy was still under way, Romney issued a harsh political statement blaming Obama for weakness and apologizing for tweets that were sent out from the Egyptian embassy (also attacked), at the time the protests were first starting (prior to the casualties in Libya) in response to some racist "blood libel" style video issued by nutso Jewish and Christian theocons, disavowing American endorsement of the message of that video, that essentially all Muslims drink blonde Christian women's baby's blood or some other pablum.
Romney issues this attack around 10:30pm last night, and then doubles down on his bs in the most smug manner possible this morning AFTER it was discovered that the ambassador and other diplomatic personnel were killed.
Andrew Sullivan's summation is a bit more concise than mine:
