Bitchin' thread riley. I live in Arizona and suffer through vastly inflated electricity bills during the summer, so during the winter I don't use heating for any reason, ever. You really don't need it here.

You know...the temperature on the thermostat, particularly in some old building with ductwork intercourse and people at various distances from the boiler don't necessarily have the same temps in their apartments.

I lived in a 3rd floor joint where 70 was more like 60. My present joint is too hot if over 64. The room directed above the furnace is the warmest--furthest away the coolest. It's quite the rocket science.

Thus, the girl upstairs likely isn't roasting ears of corn on skewers in front of the heat ducts and you are likely getting a much hotter feed from the furnace.

Reminds me of the time I was in my old apartment complex and tripped the circuit breakers of the neighbors above me because they were blaring their music at 1 in the morning.

Waiting for canon.doorcore to rage into here, spitting and flailing his arms on us to deal with it because we chose to live in an apartment complex like animals and he used to sleep on a dirty floor where his roommates threw chicken bones and raw meat at him.
